Yoga Jnana For Seniors
Jnana Yoga is the yoga of intellectual inquiry, to use the mind to achieve deep realization that our God-Self, the awareness that we are actually a manifestation of God is above and behind the head. However, we must not fall into the trap of thinking that we can discover God through the use of the mind alone. To achieve cosmic consciousness, which can be called self-realization, we must constantly Us ask "Who am I", in other words, Am I only the material body and spirit material, or am I, indeed, part the biggest thing. That something more is considered by yogis to be God's presence all and all it contains, if the individual is conscious or not. The goal of Jnana Yoga is to achieve an awareness that, so that small minds can not impose constraints.
One of the strong points of yoga is that yoga is not for any personality or character. For those who are contemplative, there is Raja Yoga, the yoga of meditation. For those who are very action oriented, it is Karma Yoga, the yoga of selfless service. For those who are very emotional and they are inspired by feelings of love of Godhead there are Bhakti Yoga, the yoga of love. For those who enjoy the ceremonies and were inspired by them, Tantra Yoga is the yoga forms. Finally, for those who are very physical, is Hatha Yoga, Yoga movement and is best known outside India.
However, others are still driven by the need to understand and for them there is Jnana Yoga, the Yoga of understanding. This realization takes the form read, understand and accept the message in the Hindu scriptures, which predate the Bible was written and that some scholars believe inspired the writers the Old Testament. These scripts take the philosophy of Vedanta, the philosophy of Vedic scriptures, the scriptures, Hindus accepted.
It must however be firmly understood that Jnana Yoga is not just an intellectual exercise. We can learn more about the omnipresence of God through the Vedic scriptures, but to really experience the feeling of God, the candidate must perform a certain exercise that will transcend his intelligence limited. This is done through meditation on the question "Who am I". The purpose of this exercise is the time to reach the conclusion that "self" beyond limits of the body and is really part and an expression of universal self, or God.
So you can see that Jnana Yoga helps the aspirant to their first call intelligence value to those who are intellectually oriented, but it helps the aspirant to transcend his limited intelligence, aware of the intelligence cosmic shapes and pervades all. It focuses on the question "Who am I" and thereby achieves the recognition that the little that is really part of I. Its universal intellectual exercise can be considered as sugar, covering the substance of its eventual realization God.
